St Patrick's Day

Today we celebrated St Patrick's Day.  We learnt about shamrocks, leprechauns and St Patrick.  We wrote about the things that make us lucky.  Then we baked green cookies, iced them with green and sprinkled them with a little bit of rainbow (100's and 1000's).  In the afternoon we read Pamela Allen's Potato People and went to room 16 and made our own potato people.

Making Green Cookies

We creamed the butter and sugar.

Chase wanted to learn how to crack an egg.

Great job Chase!

Sticky eggy fingers!

Mila added the egg to our mix.

Marcus added the vanilla.

Jesleen and Amira put in the flour, mixed spice and baking powder.

Flynn added the food colouring to make them green.

We rolled the batter into balls (maybe we rolled them a little too much)

We put the balls onto the baking tray...

and into the oven.

15 minutes later - cooked!

We iced our cookies and decorated them.

The best part was eating the cookies...YUM!

In the afternoon we went to visit Room 16 and made potato people just like Pamela Allen's book "The Potato People"

Our Potato People look amazing and we had so much fun!
