Go without day

This term Room 3 are having 'go without day' every Friday.  Each Friday our parents sponsor us to go without something for the day.  We talk about what we could go without and then vote on the choices.  Work seems to come up A LOT when we are deciding.  They haven't convinced Ms Hogan yet!

We have been learning all about the Kiwi and how our national bird is endangered, so we have decided to use the money we raise to help save the Kiwi. It costs $75 to protect a kiwi from a roaming dog.  So when we have raised this much we will donate it to 'Kiwis for Kiwi' who do a fantastic job to help save our Kiwi.

"Dogs are the number one threat to adult kiwi, and a roaming dog can virtually wipe out a population in a short period of time. This donation supports our kiwi avoidance programme with dogs which includes educating owners and training the dogs."

Week 1 - we went without chairs and did all of our work on the floor.
 (Mr Maindonald even made Ms Hogan sit on the floor in the staffroom)

Week 3 - we turned off the lights and worked in the dark today.

Planting daffodils

Here we are showing which way our daffodil bulbs need to go into the ground.  They look like onions!

 Once that was sorted, it was time to plant our bulbs.  We dug a good size hole, put our daffodil in, covered it with soil and then gave it a wee drink of water.  

Now our bulbs will sit under the warm soil all winter, and come Spring we will have lots of gorgeous daffodils in our garden.

In my holidays I...

This week we have been bringing in things we made or got, or talking about our holidays.

Will went to a holiday programme and made a superhero mask.

Chase got some Pokemon from his Aunty.

 Amira got a chick for Easter.

 Marcus brought in some photos of when he went collecting chestnuts with him family.  He said they cooked them and they were 'YUM'.

 Max was given some football cards by his brother Ben.  This is his favourite card.

 Noah won Player of the Day.  He said he tripped up the boy who was about to score a goal.

Mila got some Minnie Mouse ears...cute! 

Ethan brought in the Western Leader to show us an article about his Mum.  He was in the photo with Mum and his little brother Carter.

Justin got some Lego men.  Here is Emmett from The Lego Movie...

Happy Mother's Day

We love our Mums in Room 3 so we have written about what makes our Mums special.
I wish all 'my mums' a wonderfully happy mother's day and hope you are all spoiled rotten - you deserve it!

Noah was away but told me he loves his Mum because she loves him.
