Floating house
On Wednesday we spotted a house floating over top of Auckland. The children in Room 3 were very excited and had all "seen that movie". There were many theories as to where it was going, some of these included 'the Eiffel Tower', 'the mountains', 'The Sky Tower', 'South Auckland' or even our school field. A lot of time was spent watching and talking about the cool house that we would all like to live in!
Butterfly Bliss
Today we watched a butterfly dry it's wings and prepare to fly. A few of us were very excited to have it sit on our arm, others wanted no part at all of all those legs crawling on them.

Room 3 Can Count
We learned to play the song "Pass the drum please" and then played it for the whole school at assembly.
Self Portraits
We have been creating our self portraits this week. First we pencilled our faces, then we coloured the background, eyes and lips with pastels. Next we painted our faces and finally, we put on shredded paper for hair. They look amazing!!!

Help your child with handwriting. What can you do?
Learning to hold a pencil correctly is an important skill for your child to learn. The link below will take you to a fantastic site to help your child build up the skills necessary to form letters correctly. Created by an occupational therapist, there are many great ideas to improve your child's fine motor skills.
